[[File:Laughing_Death_Patrol_(Earth-616)_from_U.S.A._Comics_Vol_1_7_0001.jpg|thumb|frameless|right|300px|Laughing Death Patrol (Earth-616)]] The Laughing Death Patrol was a squad of Imperial Japanese fighter pilots active during World War II. Piloting custom Zero fighters, they wielded a chemical weapon that caused their enemies to laugh uncontrollably until death, turning their skin green in the process. Their deadly missions targeted Allied forces across the Pacific, and they became infamous for the eerie laughter that followed their attacks. The Patrol encountered American pilot Doug “Jap Buster” Johnson when they struck a U.S. battleship. Witnessing the gruesome aftermath of the gas, Johnson vowed revenge. In a daring solo mission, he fought the squadron in the air, evading the gas clouds and shooting them down. Discovering their battleship base, Johnson infiltrated the vessel disguised as an admiral, unleashed their own gas aboard, and escaped as American destroyers sank the ship — ending the Laughing Death Patrol for good. * '''Name:''' Laughing Death Patrol * '''Type:''' Military squadron * '''Affiliation:''' Imperial Japan * '''Status:''' Defunct * '''Enemies:''' Allied Forces, Doug “Jap Buster” Johnson * '''Creators:''' Mickey Spillane, Dennis Neville * '''Base of Operations:''' Pacific Ocean * '''Universe:''' Earth-616 (Marvel Multiverse) * '''Publisher:''' Timely/Marvel Comics * '''First Appearance:''' U.S.A.
